Test Taking Tips
Many students have difficulty taking tests. Do not fret if you fall into this category. Here are some tips that might help as you study and prepare to take the AZ Civics Exam.
Good luck!

Before the Test:

-
Be sure to review the information on the test carefully.
-
Practice and get assistance on concepts you are not sure on.
-
Get a good night’s sleep before the test.
-
Eat a healthy breakfast before leaving home.
-
Hate those pencil erasers?? Bring one of your own.
-
Bring a couple extra pencils just in case.
Multiple Choice Hints:

-
Try to recall the answer before reading the answer options.
-
Read all choices!
-
Cross out the options that are obviously incorrect choices.
-
As you are reading the options circle the letter of the answer that seems to be the best.
-
Select the best choice. If two or more are correct, choose the most specific one, e.g., "A triangle has 3 sides," is a better choice than"A triangle has more than 2 sides."
-
Do not pay attention to how many "A's", "B's", "C's",or "D's" you have selected.
-
Answer all of the questions.
During the Test:
-
Study the sample questions to determine what kind of answer each section is looking for.
-
Read the instructions carefully.
-
Read each question carefully to understand what it asks.
-
Underline key words.
-
Relax and do your best with each question.

Finishing the Test:
-
Use all of the time allotted for the test. If you have extra time, cover up the answers and recheck work you are unsure of.
-
Do not be alarmed if other students finish before you do. Take your time,do not panic, and you will do well on the test.
